TS - do you all have to eat together?

Just thinking that we occasionally book separate meals in DLP, e.g. DH will take our eldest DD to a meaty / spicy restaurant, while I take the other (fussy) one somewhere more crowd-pleasing.

I assume this is fairly straightforward to arrange with ADRs in WDW too, but I thought I’d better check (since DH is already making his own wish list of restaurants, and they might not quite match my own wish list / realistic expectations of DD!)

Thats fine, the only problem i found was trying to book 2 tables at roughly the same time on mde- it would try and cancel one but if you use different mde accounts it will be fine

As above, you need to use two different MDE accounts as it won’t allow you to have two ADRs at the same time.

I’m still waiting for an email to say that my MDE has been set up, so I’m not sure how that would work, but I’ll look into it if needs be (or we could just try to compromise and all eat together!)

I didn’t realise that, but I’ll see if I can figure out the MDE thing. It was fairly straightforward in DLP - I just had to give DH’s name for one booking and mine for the other. (Well, it would have been straightforward if I hadn’t forgotten when I went to get all our ADRs printed out, and thought they’d lost one. Finally realised when the CM asked if I might have booked the missing meal under a different name!)

You won't get an email to say it has been set up? You just go onto the MDE website and register for an account.

Do you mean an email that says you can now link your booking using your booking reference? If so, you don't need to link your booking necessarily to look at the dining options. Anyone can book 180 days in advance so you can start looking at how it works now.

You will need two accounts as mentioned above because it will not let you book two tables within 2.5 hours of each other

Sorry, I meant linked, not set up, wrong words. I thought linking meant the same as setting up MDE with the booking - I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing!

I’ve had a MDE account since we went to DLP, but I’ve been waiting for the email to say my booking is ready to be linked to it, so that I can use it to plan this holiday. So do you mean it’s advisable to do dummy ADRs and cancel them, to see how it works? Or is there a point where you’ve seen everything you need to, and can close it down before actually making an ADR? I’ll have a look around it now, and I’ll get DH to make his own MDE account too.

I do this every time we go I have mammy daughter lunch and dh goes off for father son lunch they are not interested in princesses. So you won’t be able to book two restaurants yourself that over lap however if you ring up they can easily book the second one for you. I have two showing on mde now fine but I couldn’t make the second one myself it kept trying to cancel one of them. But it’s definitely possible via the phone 😁 or if you are there trying to book a second one concierge can help

Also my bookings are only 10 minutes apart and that’s only because there was not availability for the exact same times, although that would have been possible if there was 😊

That sounds much easier. My DH will have to put up with the princesses anyway, as he’s outnumbered 3-1 on that score, but if we need to split into two pairs for meals, I’ll just do this and book one over the phone. Thank you.

You don't need a linked booking to do ADRs just a MDE account, as you can book ADrs without park tickets (and some aren't even in the parks).
