Mobile Organising a wake

I have been given the task of organising my grandmothers wake.

I have found a lovely venue, suitable for the disabled guests, should provide good food and great service.

I am considering giving the guests a little favour, but I am not sure if it is a little odd for the occasion. Has anyone ever been to a wake where they were given a favour?

I was thinking something like this

lovebespoke/produc...me-not-flower/

I would rather have your honest opinion

I have been to a few funerals were they give cards with a photograph of the deceased and a poem or prayer. I personally hate them but most people find them a touching reminder.
I am sure most people would be happy to receive seeds to sow in memory of your grandmother. Much nice, I think.

I attended a friend’s funeral on Thursday and there were no favours handed out. And I’ve not seen them before, but I love forget me nots and think they would make a lovely little memento. Go for it.
And sorry for your loss.

I have never heard of “favours” at a wake but I think the ones you have chosen are lovely

My aunt passed away a few years ago now and her daughter handed out daffodils after the service. Never come across it before but it was a nice thing to do.

If it feels right for you to do it, then that’s what you should do.

It’s a beautiful thing to do to remember a loved one.

Never had favours at a wake. Here a wake is the 2-3 days where the body is laid out in the house and people come to pay their respects, then after the funeral theres a get together where its usually drink, food and tea lol.
Its becoming more common here where I live to have the mass booklets printed with a photo of the deceased on the front cover.
Then a few weeks/months after, memory cards are given to family/friends etc.

However I love the idea of forget-me-not seeds.

Sorry to hear of your loss xx

Much the same as in Scotland.
The memory cards are give out by the undertaker.
