Any ideas when the 50th celebrations will start ? Surely before the actual 50th date right?

I would say it will last the whole of 2021. They did that for Epcot 35...

Do you think there will be special merch available only on 1 October or will it be available all year round? I've also heard that the celebrations will last for a year like Mickey's 90th.

The 25th Anniversary was on from the 1st October 1996 to 31st Jan 1998 so I would imagine it would be very similar for the 50th. ie 1st October 2021 to 31st Jan 2023.
