My 2 have mentioned it (12 & 14 nearly) Were a very open family, watch the news and current affairs as did my parents when I was their age. I can remember the 1st Gulf War & being on holiday in Malta, I was 8/9 and there were black outs as fighter jets flew over, it terrified me, and when we came home I made my dad look in all the rooms in the house and the loft/airing cupboard to make sure Saddam Hussain wasn’t hiding in there. Sounds crazy now but as youngsters your mind is all over the place.

Kids nowadays are forced by outside influences to grow up too quickly and worry about things that they shouldnt be worrying about.

There was a thread the other month about a kid who didnt want to have children when they grew up because of climate change.

Theyre learning sexual education earlier and earlier, at the age of 12 i didnt worry if i liked boys or girls only things like where was my footy, how would i explain the hole in the knee of my trackies and what was for tea.

I had amazing parents who shielded me from things, strikes, ship yards closing and both my dad and grandfather losing their jobs etc I was shielded from it because me worrying about it would have been a negative for me and for my parents.

There was a teacher the other month that was talking politics to the children my daughter included. And went on and on about labour and their counter to not be biased? If people dont want a NHS then they should vote conservative!

People should keep their opinions away from kids.

secondnexus/trump-obama-iran-nuclear-deal

So the missile retaliation was apparently Obama's fault after all... 🤔

At least Bonespurs is consistent in that.

So, one dead uniformed military officer, fifty dead whipped up mourners (that no one cares about), a missile attack that missed and "killed" 80 fictional Americans, and it's all over apparently, according to a Tweet from Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif:

"Iran took & concluded proportionate measures in self-defense under Article 51 of UN Charter targeting base from which cowardly armed attack against our citizens & senior officials were launched,
"We do not seek escalation or war, but will defend ourselves against any aggression."

this misslile attack was obviously just a show as @22 missiles causing seemingly zero meaningful damage & zero casualties...

almost as if they deliberately 'missed' the intended targets...

we can all stand down now panic over imo

It now looks like an Iranian missile brought down the Boeing 737, if that's true then does DT have to share some of the blame?

Iranians incompetently bring down civilian aircraft - a few hours after they did a missile attack, only people to blame are the incompetents who did it.
Heads should roll, but the only heads that will roll in Iran are those brave enough to stand up to the horrendous regime.

I think you just need to explain to them that in recent history there has been a lot of turmoil and none of it has resulted in a third world war.

Also not to worry about something that is out of their control.
I would have been furious if a teacher had caused my child such unnecessary distress.

If the US hadn't have taken out Soleimani then the Iranians wouldn't have started firing missiles in retaliation Yorkie and the people on the plane would still have been alive.
