I use Fairy Non Bio or Ariel, always wash at 40 and then put stuff in the tumble dryer.

I also use Smol dishwasher tablets, and they do a better job than Fairy Platinum or Finish Quantum which is what I used previously (depending which was on offer )
This is what I use too, I think they are great, well priced and delivered too and not as much waste

We use liquid but I do agree that it makes the machine gungy.
I think I’ll change to powder on the next shop.
We use a scoop of vanish with white but no fabric conditioner.
OH used to obsessively use those unstoppables until the residue blocked the waste pipe solid.
Water everywhere 😬

They’re now banned

Persil non bio powder & baby comfort fabric conditioner colour catchers (I have put whites in with darks & they do work!)

Persil Non Bio powder ( the biggest box I can find in Home Bargains which is normally a tenner or so) and Lenor.

I clean my washer once a month with the washer cleaner sachets from Home Bargains, and I use the Kilrock Mould Spray on the door seal and on the drawer - gets all the black mould and build up off a treat.

Daz powder and colour catcher sheet with the whites, Ariel colour 3 in 1 pods with dark wash. I use white vinegar instead of fabric conditioner (no smell left on clothes), gives the machine a good clean on the final rinse.

Use some soda crystals once a week it really does help both with the gunky smell and it keeps the machine and pipes very clean👍
