Really horrible news. Poor man

I’m just so glad I didn’t go out. I’d decided that would be the safest route if I was to go.
OH sent me that story first thing this morning.
The wind’s really picking up again now actually

On the subject of it being a Sunday my granddaughter's school is closed today and Tuesday due to the roof being damaged. It's an awful thought that the pupils could have been in there when the damage occurred.

This was my junior school after the storms in January 1990. Sadly 1 girl in my sister's year died. My class had only just been taken through the staff room and outside to the music room, part of the roof landed in the gap between the 2 buildings.

Did you go to Grange Juniors? I’m sure that must’ve been around that time? I remember it well as I lived only about 6 miles away and then went on to work at the community centre next door many years later

5 cm of snow in North Staffordshire today - chaos on the roads. Make a change after the recent mild weather

Brilliant picture of a 'wolf' as well - halfway down the page.

I saw that 'wolf' picture on twitter and I thought it was photo shopped.

It was pretty rough with wind and rain during the night where i was, and a few things had moved around in the garden. It dumped with rain just as i was getting out of my car when I went to family for lunch.

No problems driving up the M6 or M62 later on in the evening.

Is that Grange Juniors Swindon? My daughter was 6 and at Ferndale at the time, I remember rushing home from work in a panic to collect her.

Cold, partially clear skies, still blustery but a lovely sunrise here
