Valencia and Madrid
Hi lovely Dibbers. We`re looking to do a 3 day break at the start of February, and have narrowed the choice to Valencia or Madrid. The flights are about the same cost and the times are all good.
Can you help us decide by letting us know the best places to stay, eat, and visit while we`d be there please? Normally we`re not so indecisive but both are places we`d really like to go so we`re finding this a touch choice. Thank you. |

Can't comment on Madrid but we did 3 days in Valencia at Easter this year and loved it. We stayed in an apartment in the old town which was great value and a good location.
booking/hotel/es/apa...lta.en-gb.html We also had THE most amazing meal at this restaurant restaurantelapappardella/ And right opposite it there is a famous creparie but I can't recall the name. We spent a day at the Science and Oceanographic museums but could have spent 2 days there as there was so much to see. We also walked from the old town along the dry riverbed which is lovely. My main advice would be to book tables for dinner as we couldn't get in anywhere as a walk up. Whatever you decide have a great time. Edited at 11:24 PM. |

We went to Valencia in Oct half term. It is lovely. We had an apartment about 5 min walk from the big indoor food market which is amazing! So much delicious food at a good price! We hired electric scooters and rode them in the big park which used to be the river bed. We walked to the beach via the science museum area, the architecture here is very unusual. We also went to the zoo which is one if the best I have been too.
We’ve also been to Madrid but that was about 19 years ago! Didn’t overly impress me to be honest! |

Haven't been to either, but I did see Travel Man in Madrid on TV recently. I thought it looked like a lot of other big cities without any distinguishing features. It's inland so no port and looked fairly flat. The buildings didn't look particularly historic. It just didn't grab me.

When we lived in Spain we used to visit Valencia by train. It is a very good City with lots of interesting architecture and beautiful squares . There are lots of green areas and places to eat. Taxis are easy to get around in and not too expensive. Well worth a visit.

We did Valencia in October. It was brilliant. A lovely big city, great food, great people, great architecture.
Would return in a heartbeat
