I am so glad to read things are improving steadily for your daughter and she is getting some of her confidence back. She has come such a long way and the support and encouragement from her family have played a huge part of that.

Wishing your daughter and your family all the best and hoping to see more positive updates in the future

Really positive update.

Nice to hear that your DD and DS are supporting each other.

You've got a really loving family unit!

Take care.

What a positive update. You’ve all come so far from some very dark days, long may it continue.

Thought I would do a little update

Work is still going well for DD - she still enjoys it and they seem to like and trust her . She is getting plenty of hours , but seems to be working nearly all Saturdays as well as Sundays which she could do with getting out of

Her weight remains a significant concern. Down to 49 from 50 kg at the last weigh in. She seems too often to come back from work with an excuse as to why she hadn't eaten all her lunch / snack / whatever .

She is still on therapy but now down to once a fortnight . Not sure she gains much from it but she is still " in the system" which should keep her in good stead if things go downhill down the line

The biggest problem is her bones. She has been having a depo-provera jab to avoid her ' monthlies' ( This has been a huge problem to her and played a massive part in her weight control ) but her latest monitoring by her bone specialist has revealed a significant weakening , which means the depo-provera injections have to stop to avoid major issues down the line. She agreed to do that with the bone consultant , then burst into tears as soon as she was out of the hospital . Could be a major stumbling block to her progression

DDs friend came out of hospital but then she went round to drop a birthday present off to find her friends father had had to sign the papers to section her again . So worrying times there

DS is half way through his GCSEs - he's finding it tough, he really struggles with concentration so revising is difficult for him- we keep pushing but without trying to put pressure on him . He is allowed breaks in his exams that helps him . We aren't expecting the world, but in the scheme of things the results aren't the be all and end all - what will be will be

The good thing on the horizon is that me and the two kids ( I forget DD is 20) are off to DLP when DSs exams are over. DW Can't come so DD is already looking forward to skipping meals / snacks etc as its DW that does 95% of food support - I really have to up my game and really ensure I keep DD on the straight and narrow
We are hoping to get a pass to help with her anxiety in the parks and really looking forward to the trip -DW is looking forward to a week of peace at home too !

Thanks for taking the time to read

Thanks for the update. I often wonder how she is getting on.

It’s not something I have any experience with and I admire your strength in dealing with such a difficult condition.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and wish you all the best in keeping DD on track

Thanks for the update.

I often find myself thinking of you and your lovely family and hoping things are well.

I’m pleased your DD is still happy with her job - she seems to have settled really well there. Sorry to hear of her upset at not being able to continue with her depo jab - are there any alternatives available for her?

Wishing your DS huge luck with his exams - but as you said, it isn’t the be all and end all. He isn’t defined by his results.

Hope you have a fantastic holiday together at DLP. You sure deserve it. And I hope your wife enjoys some down-time at home.

X

You seem such a lovely caring Dad. Your two children are very lucky to have you.

Best of luck for both of them, although I’m sure they won’t need it with you looking out for them both.

I've never posted on here before, yet read from the start and been so taken by every step taken by your daughter, I have tried to type a response before but in the bigger scheme of things my words count for nothing.

Your strength as a family is something to behold and I am in admiration of you all. From a GCSE household we know how that is and have exactly the attitude. Life is not about the piece of paper it is about you as a person.
Hope you have a great trip to DLP - sur eth DW will too

Appreciate your updates and for the complete honesty of everything you have posted so far.

Be assured that you have an online community who are walking together by your side. xx
