Wow, those magic bands are something. Oh, I so hope you all get to use them this summer! Won't that be something.

Not long until we can book our dining and I'm remaining hopeful all will go ahead. We've been watching old Adam Hattan blogs from 2017 quite regularly and I feel more positive than I did last year. As we still have our Merlin annual passes, our backup is to do a UK theme park week like we did last summer but we obviously won't know yet.
As an aside, we have booked the DCL staycation from Southampton from 27-30th August so if Florida doesn't happen, we'll finally get some Disney magic and if it does, that'll help with the holiday blues. I've never been on a cruise before, other than a Nile river cruise so will be a new experience. If I like it, my biggest worry being motion sickness, it might be the start of cruising for us. We've decided to keep it secret from the boys. Owen has arranged a Mickey phone call for the night before as a way of letting them know. I feel this really is something to look forward to. We cancelled out DLP trip in May a couple of months ago which I find a bit ironic as we booked that thinking that would be our best option for some Disney magic if Florida was a no go but now Florida is seeming more likely. Anyways I hope to check in again for ADR booking time with what we have gotten. We'll be paying out of pocket but as Owen inherited a lot of money, we don't mind as much as we would have. It'll also depend on whether character dining makes a return as well. Ideally we'd like to book the same reservations we had for 2020. Watch this space, I guess

As it gets closer to our time again, I feel a sense of deja vu and that things aren't going to happen. That being said, we booked our ADRs yesterday. We got everything we wanted so it would be amazing if we could go and experience it all. We've booked extra so that if, we do get to go, nearer the time, we can plan our days better but I don't have the heart to if my hopes are shattered.
What we've booked: Toppollinos - late breakfast slot so more like brunch Tusker House - breakfast Rainforest Cafe - dinner Be Our Guest - lunch Crystal Palace- lunch and dinner Skippers Canteen - lunch Sci-Fi Diner - lunch and dinner Garden Grill - lunch Chef Mickeys - breakfast Sanaa - dinner Oga's Cantina- afternoon drink I guess I'll update next once we all know more about what is happening. Fingers and toes crossed!

As I'm on holiday atm, I've started thinking more about plans and our itinerary. Here's what I've got so far:
Friday 12th August: Fly out London Heathrow to Miami. Depart 2pm. Arrive 6.20pm. Pick up car and drive to hotel - Double Tree by Hilton Sunrise Sawgrass Mills in Fort Lauderdale. By the time we get there, it'll be pretty late so I imagine we'll go straight to bed! Saturday 13th August - before we drive to Disney we'd like to do something in Fort Lauderdale. Our options are an airboat tour of the Everglades, visiting the Sawgrass Mills mall or going to the beach. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or we could stop off at a beach on our way up? Check into Caribbean Beach late afternoon/early evening. I thought we could check out AoA and eat there. Sunday 14th August - Animal Kingdom Monday 15th August - Magic Kingdom Tuesday 16th August - Hollywood Studios Wednesday 17th August - Epcot Thursday 18th August - ? Friday 19th August - ? Saturday 20th August - Magic Kingdom. Check into villa Sunday 21st August - A water park maybe? Monday 22nd August - Hayden's birthday so his choice Tuesday 23rd August- Universal Wednesday 24th August - Universal Thursday 25th August - ? Friday 26th August - ? Saturday 27th August - Check out of villa. We still need to book somewhere to stay for tonight - not sure if we'll stay in Orlando or drive down to Miami area. Sunday 28th August. Flight home from Miami at 8.45pm. We have the whole day free to do something here as well. We have 14 day Disney tickets and 14 day Universal tickets including Volcano Bay. We keep contemplating doing Legoland and/or The Kennedy Space Centre as well.

We have now booked a Miami hotel for our last night - the Doubletree Hilton near the airport and decided we'll spend our last day before the flight home enjoying the beach etc.
Something we're uncertain on is getting to the airport and how to do it - car or train? Travel the night before or not, knowing that our flight isn't until later?
