UK Car stickers
I don't think anyone else has posted about this, I've just read on BBC News website that GB car stickers are no longer legal for driving abroad. We now need a new UK sticker.

Although this is more inclusive than the old one (e.g. Northern Ireland), it looks really strange after all these years. What do others think?

I am sure the French will be able to spot even the very smallest of stickers whilst being completely blind to a 22ft rib filled with 30 people roaring past.

Don't know anything about fines. However the news is reporting that it is our Government who has gone to the United Nations and asked them to change our car stickers from GB to UK.

The EU has legislation stating that cars must identify which country they are from. Hence we must no longer use GB as our Government wanted it changed and it comes into force on the 1st October.

They have kept it very quiet for something which happens tomorrow.

Um if the EU rule states it must identify the country surely this has always been wrong then as far as I am aware there is no country called GB.

Guess its time to buy shares in number plate producing companies

I’ve never displayed anything other than my Plain U.K. numberplate driving in France. Police couldn’t give a dam as I’ve had cars behind me on more than one occasion.
