MAN to LAX route cancelled for 2022

I haven't had the same luck as others have had switching to Heathrow.

We got the email cancelling our May 2022 flights from MAN to LAX on Thursday. We were supposed to fly premium economy outbound and upper on the return, with a great deal I'd secured in July when the flights were booked.

I submitted the online request to rebook on the direct flights from Heathrow instead as I didn't have the time to call and have received a WhatsApp message this morning advising they want an additional £1355.64 (£451.88 per person) to change the flights!

Looks like I'm going to have to call anyway as there's no way I'm paying extra to fly from Heathrow when Virgin have cancelled the flights and certainly not that amount.

WhatsApp them back and tell them.

The first WhatsApp I had in changing flights they asked for more money - I went back and said no I have an open voucher etc etc. They acknowledged their mistake and sorted it - all within a few minutes without me needing to phone and stay on hold.

Thanks for the advice.

It took them a few hours to respond to my further WhatsApp sent at lunch time but it's been sorted now - they admitted their mistake, accepted we don't have to pay any extra and have changed the booking for the Heathrow direct flights with PE outgoing and upper on the return as per our original MAN-LAX booking!

I'm glad I don't have to phone them this evening now as I didn't want to waste half the night on hold to Virgin particularly after a long day at work!
