In over a dozen visits we’ve only ordered cheesecake once
We’re either too stuffed to think about it or not going back to the resort straight away and don’t fancy leaving it in the car in the heat |

So yesterday was Thanksgiving and we found ourselves in Universal Studios - the ride lines varied from awful to just about manageable even with Express. Express was on sale as we entered for $255 per person for a one park pass
Around 1:30 we tried for a table at Lombard’s but were told 3:45pm so we thought about heading out but on the way asked about wait times at Finnegan’s bar - 15 mins - so we gave it a go. Blacksmith ( half Guinness half Smithwicks ) Pretzel bread and cheesy guiness dip Opinion divided on this one, P tasted it once and was done, I thought it was OK but TBF more cheese and less Guinness would have been better. Tipperary Corned Beef Shepard’s pie ( which I actually think was cottage if we’re being pedantic) P’s verdict - not bad, not as good as Raglan Road though and too many bloody peas in it It was nice to get out of the crowds and nothing was bad about it, I’m just not seeing many reasons to make it a ‘must go back there next trip’ place. |

What was the wait like at the Cheesecake Factory? We had to wait ages at the Millenia one. I’m keen to visit the new one.

It was quarter to one on Wednesday lunch and we were seated immediately, you’ll have a wait though if you go around 6pm most nights I reckon.

When in Rome…. Celebrate Thanksgiving like a local.
We had the choice of a buffet at The Kitchen or set/full menu at The Palm. We decided on the Palm and it turned out not only was it the cheaper option it was very quiet and relaxed when we arrived at 8:45pm. Lemon Drop (L) Vesper Martini (R) P went a la carte and had Shrimp Bruno Veal Martini with linguine I went for the 3 course $59 TG special menu and chose Lobster Bisque Turkey Dinner And New York Cheesecake which we shared All up to The Palm’s usual high standards with perfect service too Think we’ll go back Saturday for a last night at HRH treat. |
