Car insurance - black box

My DD’s car insurance (first year) is due next month. I have been looking at comparison sites and they are cheaper than her renewal, most say black box required.

She currently has a black box so do they arrange for a new one or do they take over the current one.

My daughter had a new box fitted on her 2nd year with a new company

Always a new one, unless staying with the same company.
It’s only plugged into a slot beneath the steering wheel. Some companies send it and you do it yourself 😊
