I think you are all right. Big parade = more money, staff etc. Regular cavalcades will bring people to Main Street for shopping I guess, and cheaper to run.
Hoping they do bring them back as well!

I wonder where they keep theses parade floats as the Spectromagic parade was left outside and was damaged so badly to never be used again.

Looking at it a different way, we do now get short parades (aka the cavalcades) at all of the parks and not just at Magic Kingdom. Disney had been removing the parades at the other parks prior to the pandemic and only MK had parades. So the addition of these cavalcades at Epcot, AK and HS is a bonus.

And we also get more of them than before. There's not just one big almighty parade at 3pm where everyone crowded onto the parade route and sometimes you had to get to your spot at least half an hour beforehand in order to see it. Now there are something like 5 cavalcades at MK, 3 at HS, 3 at Epcot and 4 at AK.

Being smaller they are less of an "event" though and less impressive. Which is unfortunate.

I do think they are here to stay for the foreseeable future.

It’s always infuriated me having to hang around trying to get a half decent spot to watch a parade, for it then to rain so heavily you get that inevitable tanoy message “due to inclement weather…..”
I quite like the idea of the multiple cavalcades. That’ll do for me.
