Travel to Portugal whilst Amber

Well after a lot of consideration we have decided to go ahead with our trip to Portugal.. We are aware of what tests we need to get there and back and we are able to quarantine on return. One thing im not sure about is what sort of test do we need in Portugal to return to Uk is it same test as exiting uk RT PCR or is it a lateral flow test?

We are unsure whether to order the whole package from Randox which includes the Portugal exit test and the quarantine tests or just get tge Portugal exit test whilst there Can anyone advise me ?

ALso my grandaughter is aged 2 and i understand she needs a test to exit UK (advise says test not needed for children UP TO AGE TWO) but she shouldnt need any other test to return or whilst quarantining at home. CAn someone please confirm this

THanks for any advise

You need Lateral flow but can’t take one of the nhs ones. Loads of clinics doing them over there - in the region of €60 and they are only nose and not throat. They are unable to test on sundays due to regulations

Thank you so much for your reply Collette. I think we are ordering the amber test package from Randox and will sort the other test to return in Portugal.

THanks again !

It is co confusing! It says PCR or antigen test! Also im still not sure if my 2yr old grandaughter needs a test to travel to Portugal! Im pretty confident she doesnt need any test to return, but even on the easyjet site the infornation is contadictory!

"Option 1 NAAT test 72 hrs before...
...

*applicable age: travelers 2 years and younger...
...

Exceptions : travellers 2 years and younger "

The above info us on easyjet site

It got so complicated we have given up going to Portugal at the beginning of July and have booked a few nights in Bournemouth instead!
