Edinburgh in July
So I cancelled my Spain trip and moved the flights to Edinburgh on July 10th.
Any Scottish Dibber think this is a bad idea? Is most stuff open in Edinburgh now? Any advice appreciated!

The majority of touristy things are open, castle, zoo, camera obscure etc though most need to be pre booked. Public transport running well and pubs and restaurants open. Is there anything in particular you want to do?

We spent the weekend in Edinburgh beginning of June
Most things are open but you probably need to book restaurants in advance due to limited space |

main things were the zoo and the usual tourist stuff i suppose, Will start looking at places to eat if you need to book then, thanks
my main worry was that most things would be closed Any recommendations on where to eat, staying just off the royal mile

If you are interested in any of the museums, they are open and free, but you have to book tickets online in advance.
zoo, castle, and other big sites are all open. Again I'd recommend booking online in advance. Most places to eat and drink require bookings, although Yo Sushi was doing walk ins, so I think it does vary. We love Dishoom for breakfast (St. Andrews Sq), Harvey Nichols 4th Floor has great views, If you like afternoon tea - The Balmoral Palm court or the Waldorf Astoria (formerly the Caledonian) are beautiful. Some great restaurants in Stockbridge. The Scran & Scallie is a gastro pub owned and run by Tom Kitchen and is fab. Also like the Raeburn and Tasteal in Stockbridge. If looking for fancy, Purslane in Stockbridge or the Kitchin in Leith are fab. La Favourita Pizza on Leith Walk is delicious and serve pizza, pasta etc. The new St. James Centre is opening (next week I think) and there will be lots of new places in there. Have a great time |

St James Quarter opened this week. Definitely worth a look. It is beside Calton hill which has amazing views over the city.
