Are you looking for something more special or just a cheapish lunch?

For breakfast i would recommend home sweet home which is in great Northern warehouse just behind hotel - 2 minute walk. Only thing is that it doesn't open till 10 on weekdays, 9 at weekend.

If you just want something basic then pizza express is literally around the corner. Otherwise you could try salvis cucina which is about a 5 -7 minute walk :

For Indian I'd go for akbars on Liverpool Street - again about 5-7 minute walk but in opposite direction. You'll defo need to book akbars if it's a weekend
akbars/manchester
For Chinese you've got China town but I couldn't particularly recommend one Chinese there above another.. China town is approx 10 minutes walk from hotel. One we like thats not in China town is rice bowl - also about 10 mins walk

Hope that helps

There is a whole row of places just in a street called Deansgate which is a couple of minutes from the hotel. It's the Main Street on the way to the arena so loads of choice

I really like the Wharf as it's not like being in the city. Good pub grub. DS likes Reds. Too many choices as we are only visiting for a couple of days at a time.

Lots of places to try near there.

On your doorstep is Albert Schloss which is quite fun and has a decent menu of Bavarian style items with Bratwurst, Schnitzel etc and I think they do flatbread style pizzas too.

Revolution is not a bad lunch, on Deansgate Locks. They usually do special offers such as 50% off during the week too.

Home Sweet Home is great food, very filling and american in style.

Spinningfields is a 5min walk away and has tons of bars and restaurants that would do for lunch. Some of them aren't the cheapest but it's got a nice vibe during the day so worth taking a closer look.

Breakfast wise there's a wetherspoons just up the road a bit if you want cheap and cheerful, a starbucks across the road and caffe nero and a costa just a stones throw too. If you go a bit further you will find lots of great breakfast places in the Northern Quarter including a couple of american style breakfast places (Alabama and another one that I can't recall it's name), the Koffee Pot for a full english or lots of other smaller places too.
