Not sure that is true Sue, of course you book through them but I know from my experience that Vrbo are very good about refunds when cancelling.

Others will have experience of Debbie's for refunds, reaction to faults and complaints etc. They will have individual owners but their policies will be contracted to the villa owners.

Booked with them in 2016. Absolutely fantastic service, couldn’t fault them.
Booked with them last year for this year and they’ve allowed us to move our booking to next year. Communication is really good. I only have positive things to say from the experience I have with them. You do need to be aware of their terms and conditions when booking though. They don’t refund villa only bookings due to the Covid situation. So just be aware that if you book with them and we are still in this mess by the time your balance is due, you’ll either have to forfeit your deposit or move to alternate dates. They charged £25 fee to do this.

VRBO still have to adhere to the villa owners conditions, so if an owner says no refund there is nothing they can do.They do give priority listing to those that offer refunds though and they are so good at getting bookings giving refunds is no longer a big deal. They have been our absolute saviours over the last year, we have never had so many bookings.

I recently cancelled a VRBO villa and the owner did not hold the funds, VRBO help the funds and refunded in 24 hours

Yes but the owner must have agreed this condition. The owners terms and conditions still apply.

Yes I agree, the thing tomdo with VRBO is check the cancellation conditions as they do vary with each property.

Glad they have helped you out Sue, why did you choose them rather than other booking portals?

We have always been with them but when they were Homeaway, we actually inherited the listing when we bought the Villa. It's always been one of our main booking platforms.

I booked with Debbies villas, nothing but good to say, changed my May booking last year to this May, then changed it to June, and now changed it to August, (I had to have a different villa as the one we were orginally in was booked for August, but was able to look for a villa in the price range I paid and choose which one I wanted)
