New amazing cancer screening test
About to roll out across UK science is absolutely amazing
Final results from a study of a blood test that can detect more than 50 types of cancer have shown that it is accurate enough to be rolled out as a multi-cancer screening test among people at higher risk of the disease, including patients aged 50 years or older, without symptoms. In a paper published in the leading cancer journal Annals of Oncologytoday (Friday), researchers report that the test accurately detected cancer, often before any symptoms arose, while having a very low false positive rate. The test also predicted where in the body the cancer is located with a high degree of accuracy, which could help doctors choose effective diagnostic tests. |

Fantastic news !
Whenever ‘stand up to cancer’ sponsor Gogglebox, I think it is, on TV, their stat ‘1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime’ is quite horrifying. |

Cancer is vile. Science is brilliant, and we will beat it. This is another amazing tool in the armoury. Hopefully can be administered cheaply and quickly by GPs without any long waiting times for screening.

I heard this earlier such fantastic news, as someone who had cancer 11 years ago and it took me 6 months to get a diagnosis it can only be good news.
