3kg smoked gammon how to cook not slow cooker

Any ideas on how to cook a 3 kg piece of gammon but not in the slow cooker pleSe many thanks

Big pan of coke with an onion and some cloves & peppercorns. Boil for about 40 mins/kg, then take out, remove fat, score and glaze with honey/black treacle, cover with a bit of sugar and mustard powder and stud with cloves. Into the oven for 30 minutes.

Or just boil it in coke for a bit longer.

I did one at Christmas and don't have a slow cooker. I did it much like PP mentioned, half the time in a pan of coke and the other half in the oven. I decided on a honey and maple syrup glaze.

The instructions that came on the wrapper suggested cooking in the oven for the whole time, so that is an option, but I wanted to do the thing with coke.

I cook it in coke and a onion for 3 hours, but I soak it the night before to get rid of salt. Then remove top layer of fat, crisps cross the skin and put honey on and glaze for 20 to 30 mins. It’s delicious 😋
