child with boarder line ADHD

Hi
Asking for a friend who is planning her first trip this year (oct) with 2 kids.
Her son aged 10 is boarder line ADHD, has learning difficulties, has problems waiting in queues. He hasn't been officially diagnosed with a condition but does get help as school. would she be able to get any assistance in the parks? or is she better off just planning the Fastpasses as best as she can? I'll be doing her plan( excited but disappointed its not me going this year) so any help/tips would be appreciated.
Thanks

Boarder line ADHD?

Why not just go to the GP & ask for a referral to the mental health team to get tested.

100% book fastpasses! My daughter is on the Special needs register and we do get the DAS card but we have it more as a back up. We plan our days around her capabilities and what she needs and this includes aiming to get 3 fastpasses for each day we visit the parks. We will only use the DAS if she is struggling and then we ask for a return time, or if a queue is extra long.
I agree with another comment though and it seems a referral from the GP is needed. We did this for our daughter and the unit she was sent to have been amazing with her, diagnosis was quick (she does not have ADHD though but other issues). It will help a great deal towards their school life as well.
Good luck with the planning!

^^^^Completely agree with this, my daughter has additional needs and we qualified for DAS but with how great fast pass was we only needed to use it a handful of times, but when it was needed it worked great for her and us and was much appreciated. Do the fastpasses for your friend and they can always pop into guest services on holiday and ask about das. They don't need to take proof of a diagnosis as American laws don't allow to see medical information it's down to you to explain why the person needing it would benefit from the system.
Agree with others too try and get your friend onto the referral ladder for their child, different authorities work differently and at a different pace to others but if a diagnosis is made it makes it a lot easier to open doors to access relevant services and support for child and family.
How nice of you to help them plan their visit 🙂
