We are looking at booking our honeymoon. We are considering Hong Kong along with a few other places. I have a week off in March 10th to 17th.
What do people recommend in Hong Kong? What will the weather be like? We would want to visit Disneyland so where should we stay to do everything.
Any advice greatfully received
Emma

We just got back from Hong Kong after 5 nights. This was our second time in HK but first time Disney. Absolutely loved it, we stayed at HK Disneyland Hotel which is based on the Grand Floridian. Fantastic hotel and nearest one to the park which is less than 10 min walk to the enterance.

Plenty of other things to do in HK

Cable car
Victoria peak via tram
Markets (ladies and temple street)
Big bus tour
Harbour tours
Bars and restaurants galore
And plenty of shopping.

The weather should be mid 20s for March and starting to get humid.

Sounds brilliant - who did you book with?

Hi Emma,

I've only just noticed your post. I'm going to Hong
Kong next week after it was recommended by fellow Dibbers!

Once I started researching I realised there is so much to do and see. There is (obviously) Disneyland, Big Buddha and cable car, Peak Tram, Sky100, Star Ferry, Happy Valley racecourse, various street markets, shops and restaurants. I'd like to go on a day trip to Macau but unfortunately I don't have time.

There was a Travel Man show on over Christmas in Hong Kong so see if you can find it on catch up. It was a good insight into HK.

Word of warning on Disneyland - the castle is now boarded up as part of the improvements I love a good castle photo but no such luck. It's a good excuse to go back when it's finished

I'm staying on HK island, close to a MTR station. One of the reasons I decided on HK was the public transport. I'm staying a few stops from Central as it was good value for money.

I booked the hotel and flights as a package with BA holidays. Flying direct from Heathrow. If you can stay on a Friday and Saturday night you might get a better price as the HK government give incentives to travel companies to get tourists to stay at the weekend as they'll spend more money! I've noticed that flights home are cheaper on a Sunday and Monday. If you can be flexible with your dates then PE and even business come in at a reasonable cost (compared to America)

Hey, we got back on Tuesday from our second trip to Hong Kong, we booked the flights with Virgin Atlantic, as it was our second trip we decided we wanted to do Disney as we ran out of time to do Disney the first time, there are Lots of things to do in Hong Kong!

For our Disney part of the holiday we booked with Disney direct as they had a amazing deal that we couldn’t not do, the deal was Called ‘Three Magical Days Disney Getaway Package’ and we want for the deluxe version

The package included -
2-Night Hotel Accommodation - All Hotels and Room Types (Exclude Kingdom Club at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel)
Daily Hotel Breakfast for 2
Hotel Priority Check-in
Hotel Late Check-out
Free Transportation from the Hotel to the Airport
2 x 2-Day General Admission Tickets
4 x Park Meal Coupons
2 x PhotoPass Plus (1 x Park & 1 x Hotel Dining)
Reserved Viewing Area – Parades (subject to availability)

And we stayed for two nights at the Disneyland hotel which is their version of the Grand Floridian hotel which within 8 mins of leaving Main Street we were in our hotel room and this was walking!

The price worked out at around £440 per person which we thought was a amazing price, we spent two full days at the theme parks and on the third day we spent a day at the resort which is really stunning and with very good facilities, they also upgraded our room to a balcony room over looking the South China Sea, I could not fault the hotel, the room and the members of staff there and would highly recommended the package we did to anyone

We were in HK in early Dec and visited Disneyland. We went on a Sunday and the train journey was easy with the dedicated Disney line, cute trains too. Loved the day as it was like old school Disney, not too overcrowded and it was very relaxed compared to the rest of HK. Plus being over 65 we both got our entry tickets for £10
