No Disney?! A winter getaway to Washington DC and Delaware! Day 6
15th Dec
Breakfast at hotel for the last time 9 I had French toast and Rob reverted to his favoured omelette. We headed back up to the room to sort out our bags and then checked out and asked the valet to bring the car around. We left the hotel shortly after 10 and started out towards Wilmington. There was some traffic on the way out of DC but the drive wasn't too bad except for the sat nav taking us via Baltimore, we figured out that it had been set to avoid tolls so we turned off that setting and it was fairly simple after that. We stopped at the Earl of Sandwich on I95 for an early lunch and arrived at Jen and Toms house at about 1400 by this point it had started snowing in Wilmington! We spent the remainder of the afternoon at the house catching up before walking to dinner at a local Italian, there was a reasonable amount of snow on the ground at this point. We popped to the store on the way back and then watched some TV whilst the guys started building Big Ben. (9558 steps, 4.04 miles)

Oh my, look at that snow.
I've always fancied a roadtrip starting from Washington. Was it easy enough to get out of the city? |

Yeah, the snow was fab 😀 It probably would have been easier with the toll road setting on, but it wasn’t difficult at all 😀
