How strict is Alamo pick up / drop off time ?

Hi all,

This morning I went through the OLCI/Skip the counter process with Alamo using our original booking information.

I completely forgot that VA have changed our outbound arrival time (bringing it forward by over 2 hours).

Is this ( ie turning up at the pick up garage 2 hours early ) going to be a problem ?

No problem whatsoever. Just make sure you drop it back no later than the time you exit the barrier on the first day.

Hi,
We arrived at the airport late which was not an issue at all. We also dropped it off late. The only problem with arriving late is we got the last choice of cars. With arriving early I am not sure on the procedure but it must occur a lot. I would presume they would be fine with it. But don't take my word for it because I am not 100% sure. I would personally e-mail Alamo and just check that it will be okay and that they are aware of your early arrival

You really don’t need to contact Alamo. They are an airport branch and are used to flights turning up early, late, being cancelled etc. And don’t worry about late arrivals and lack of cars, because all the earlier flights will have departed again and lots of folks on them will have been returning cars earlier in the day.
We were stuck in New York once and arrived at the hire desk in Orlando about18 hours late...didn’t notify Alamo and no problem at all. They even mentioned that there were lots of flights delayed the last night due to weather.

Thanks.

The drop off isn't an issue; we are dropping off at a different airport in preparation for an early morning internal flight.

OP. Don't contact Alamo. They will tell you to cancel and rebook! At a greater cost of course. I have been 2 hours early and nearly 7 hours late. Nobody cares.

As always though - check your agreement says $0.00 to pay.

I once got to the MCO exit barrier 15 minutes before our car hire start time and they tried to charge me for an entire extra day! I obviously refused to accept it, asked them to amend the agreement that I would return it 15 minutes early. He tried to say that wasn't possible so I said I'd sit there for 15 minutes until it was due to start ... strangely enough he backed down instantly! There's always one that tries it on!
