Awwww really? That’s good! As I’ve heard from ppl they will be deleted because the Annual passes work on different rules for fastpasses?

Hi,
so we are going in May this year and January for 7 days next year and have already realised that we are going to be better off upgrading our 21 day tickets to annual passes (basically the price of an 7 day adult ticket saving). My question is how does upgrading affect the 'free' magic band? We'll be upgrading on our first day at the parks so was wondering do you get an exchange voucher there or do you just get given one on the spot or as we are upgrading do we not qualify? Sorry for the longwinded question - just trying to figure out the best plan of action. TIA |

I assume you are staying on-site at a Disney hotel? It's just that you only get 'free' MagicBands with an on-site stay. Otherwise, you have to buy MagicBands.
That aside, when you upgrade it won't affect the MagicBands - you'll still get those if staying on-site and be able to use them and keep them (you keep them for life). The MagicBand isn't actually your ticket, it just provides access to your Disney account. Tickets are now purely electronic; they are an electronic entry on your Disney account. When you go to upgrade, the CM will look up what electronic tickets you have on your account, tap away on a keyboard, and change these entries to Annual Pass entries. Your MagicBands will still be connected to your Disney account and, when you scan your MagicBands after upgrading, the system will now see you have APs attached to that account instead of 21 day tickets.

Hi
Thanks for your help We are staying at the Swan & Dolphin for 2 nights but that was through a hotel points program. When i was reading about the Annual Passes on the Disney website i was under the impression you got MagicBands as part of the annual pass...am i mistaken? I was mainly wondering how that would work if we upgrade at the park as i understand that they post/ship them to you. We live in the UK and they state they don't ship internationally. so confused... |

Yes, MagicBands are provided for free if you get an Annual Pass. However, Disney will only post them to a US address and (apparently) you can't pick them up at the parks. See here:
disneyworld.disney.go/en...-band-pick-up/ So, if you want the MagicBands you need to provide a US address where you can pick them up. Which may be difficult so you may have to out on these. I'm afraid I can't help any more. Perhaps someone else will be able to provide more details or perhaps the following thread might help: https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1048416 Oh, and WELCOME TO THE DIBB!

Thanks
I tried calling Disney and they haven't got a clue about the UK tickets. I shall just have to wait and see what happens when we get there in May. Thanks for all your help and advice. |

You can have AP magic bands shipped to your hotel, we're having our shipped to the Dolphin on the first part of our Disney stay. It says do this at least 10 days before your arrival on MDE. The price we paid to upgrade our AP takes DVC discount into account and we did it last year - so not massively helpful. Just a note we found using the phrase: BRIDGING tickets rather than UPGRADE got us the best price. It's definitely the way they do it which gives the lower price. We went to the specialist ticket booth at HS and they said our tickets couldn't be upgraded there, it needs to be done at guest services. Hope that helps.
