Travel insurance with disability

Hi, we are travelling to Florida in June with friends who has a child with cerebral palsey. Am I right in thinking they will need a pre-exciting medical insurance for him as they seem to think they don't as it's not a medical, it's a disability. He's not been in hospital or received any treatment within the last two years.
Thanks

My adult son has CP. I have told our medical insurance but it has never been put down as a pre existing medical condition. Medically he’s a lot better than us. I think as long as you tell them then you’re covered. Always best to err on side of caution with medical insurance and the States. We did have an issue with him last year when he fell and cut himself (probably down to his CP) but they paid up ok and didn’t even mention it.

I would deff tell the Insurance company. There may be nothing extra to pay.

It's definitely still a pre existing condition and if it's not mentioned in the insurance and something was to happen in holiday relating to cp they may not cover it. Also if there has been no treatment ECT for 2 years there most probably won't be an extra charge

Hi
My daughter has CP and we have always declared it and never been any extra charge, they ask a few questions relating to the condition and that's all, also they can apply for the disabled parking permit which may be useful.
