Disney US Magic Your Way tickets to increase in price from today

Disney have announced that their American tickets (often called “Magic Your Way” tickets, although I don’t think Disney officially uses that term any more) are to go up in price later today.

So, for example, a one-day “regular” ticket to Magic Kingdom will cost $119, a $4 increase. A one-day “value” ticket will cost $109, a $2 increase, while a “peak” ticket will now cost $129, a $5 increase.

See the following for more info:
orlandosentinel/busin...211-story.html

Expect to see Universal increase it’s American tickets by similar amounts in the next week or so as well.

Note that this is unlikely to affect the price of the UK 7-day, 14-day and 21-day Ultimate tickets.

One thing I forgot to mention is that Disney are introducing date-specific pricing to multi-day tickets, like they currently do with the single day tickets.

That’s going to make things more complicated.

The new ticket prices are now shown on the DIBB's Walt Disney World ticket prices page here:

https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/Wal...ces-p-858.html

Note that all American tickets have increased in price - that includes single day tickets, multi-day tickets and Annual passes.

You do realise that that's how businesses work, right? The primary aim of every business is to maximise profits for it's owners and/or shareholders. Disney is no exception.

In addition, they've got to pay for the new rides and lands in some way. Mickey can't just wave his magic wand and make them appear.

I do agree (somewhat) with your point about workers pay though. I think the poor CMs who work at the attractions deserve to be paid more. I think we could all afford to pay a little more for our tickets in order to give them a bigger pay rise.

Ummm no. And that’s said with no disrespect. Any increase in pay for for the workers should come out of the huge $billion (yes billion $) profits made, not by me having to pay more on my tickets.
