Virgin Holidays/Alamo

Sorry, another Alamo question!

So, after cancelling our first 2 car hires (Hertz and Dollar) we got a good price booking with Alamo through Virgin Holidays.

I can access my booking on Virgin Holidays website but only the booking invoice. The ticket/voucher is not available until mid June.

Previously (from memory) we have used Alamo once before. I'm sure we joined Alamo and was able to skip the counter and go straight through to the garage.

DH is the main driver. We have the basic insurance but this also allows one addition driver, this will be myself (I love driving in Florida, unless a glass of wine is on offer of course ).

Can I link my car booking to my Alamo membership and can I skip the counter? Do I have to wait until my ticket has been released by Virgin Holidays?

Thanks in advance

I wont use VH for the very reason you have mentioned. With VA you get the Alamo number within a few minutes or a bit longer over the weekend

It's the Ref No you need and without it you cant do OLCI.

Aaargh! I don't think I can cancel this one! The Alamo number may be on the ticket when it's sent to me electronically in June perhaps?

Yes it will be, 30 days out I think. No big shakes as you can do OLCI then. Make sure you use the dedicated Virgin link to do the process as it's so easy.

I booked Alamo through Virgin Holidays and have already done OLCI. I used the reference on the “Your holiday's booked. Here's the proof. <reference>” email.

I received 2 confirmation emails back in September and both had the same reference which worked fine through the special Virgin/Alamo site.

Last year trip was through VH I booked my OLCI but my sister had problems booking hers she emailed them and they said she was looking at wrong ref number so check paperwork see if you have two ref numbers or email/phone them to ask. It deffo wasn’t within 30 days we went in May and I remember doing it over Xmas period.

I thought the VA site actually links back to VH for the car booking anyway...
