Man-Dub-MCO - Whats the process at Dub

Hi

Having had our indirect AA flight to PHL cancelled, we have now changed to Man-Dublin-MCO which I actually think may be the better route with the preclearance being done in Dublin early on in the journey, rather than after a 7 hr flight with 3 young kids.

So we are going from T1 Manchester to T2 Dublin... what happens when we get to Dublin? Do we collect our bags and then go straight to Pre-Clearance? Where do we find this, will it be easy to find?

On arrival at MCO I know that we just collect luggage and go, but how do we actually avoid the immigration there, does it literally tunnel you a different route to the other international arrivals?

Sorry for silly questions, but I like to be prepared, and with 8 people to guide and look after I like to be planned ahead, and have a good idea of where I am going.

Thanks for help

We flew Gla-Dub-Mco last year. We didn’t have to collect luggage, it just got transferred to the next flight. I think they might have shown us a picture at immigration to confirm they were ours though.

There was an announcement on our Gla flight to let those connecting to Orlando know where to go. There will probably be quite a few people on you Man flight doing the same route as you. It’s a small airport and you will be flying in and out of T2.

Immigration officers in Dublin always seems far friendlier to me than their stateside counterparts, it’s great to get through immigration beforehand and far quicker.

As above you don’t have to collect your bags in Dublin. Just follow the signs for connecting flights. There are loads of signs for US pre-clearance. You won’t miss it!

At MCO there are international arrivals at one side and domestic at the other. You’ll arrive at domestic so no immigration. Just jump on the monorail and go down to baggage claim.

Couldn’t be easier

I assume you are booked with Aer Lingus from Manchester so your bags will be booked right through to Orlando so no need to collect and recheck.
You can go to pre-clearance anytime after you arrive at Terminal 2 but there isn't much beyond US immigration - A small shop, cafe and an airport lounge that you have to pay for (unless you are traveling in upper class). Still I like to get through as early as possible, just in case there are any issues.
When you get off the plane at Orlando you just follow the signs for the monorail and get on. There is no immigration to pass through. You arrive at a domestic gate rather than the international gates that require you to pass through immigration. Once you get the monorail to the main terminal (A and B) you need to collect your bags. You don't collect them before getting on the monorail.
