3 feel at home...

Hello all
Going to AKL in May next year. My phone is with 3 on the essential plan. Can I pay for say a month's feel at home for when i'm out there. Anybody done this? Going to ring 3 nearer the time as I believe they are adding new locations to the essentials plan all the time. But just in case they don't, I thought i'd ask here first.
Cheers.

I am on the same plan. Last year I just went and bought a £20 sim card which gave me 8gb of data while away so no nasty surprises. My number was different but I only use whattsapp anyway so all messages continued as normal

No, once you sign up to it then it's your new plan, they don't allow you to take it off. Make sure you do it well in advance as it takes effect from your next bill date when it's added. I did it in August, rang up a few weeks before and it didn't take effect until part way through my hol as it goes from next bill date. Got a nice text when I got home saying I'd saved over 3,000 😂

I switched to 3 from Giffgaff just before our trip to Disney and Feel at Home was a big part of the reason.

I wish I hadn't bothered to be honest. The data nearly never worked and when it did it was very slow compared to the speed in the UK.

Pretty much everywhere has WiFi and apps like Whatsapp and Skype allow you to call people back in the UK.

Did you remember to put it on AT&T network? as the one it automatically scans to is not very good.

I didn't know you were supposed to. I can't remember what network it was on.

It worked flawlessly in Amsterdam a couple of days ago.
