Clueless about tickets

Cheers jocat, will have to decide when I come to book my tickets, but at the moment cannot see saving much between buying the flexibility of the 14 day ultimate tickets V adding park hopping option to 7 day base tickets.

It really does depend on whether you think you'll park hop or not.

We've generally only been to one park per day and when we did park hop it was only once per holiday (usually to re-ride our favourite attractions at the parks). So, for us, the park hopping option is nice to have but not necessary and therefore not worth the extra money. However, some people park hop quite a bit.

Same goes for waterparks. We've never been bothered by them and hence don't want to pay the extra money for them. Others love them.

If you want both park hopping and waterparks, then often the price of an Ultimate ticket is similar to the price of a MYW ticket with both these options. So, in that case, you're right that there isn't much of a saving (if any).

However, if you don't want one or both of these options, then the MYW tickets are often cheaper.

So, just as an example, an adult 7 day MYW ticket with the Park Hopper option can be bought for about £225. That's about £20 less than a 2013 Ultimate ticket. Whether the additional days and waterpark option are worth £20 per person depends on whether you're going to use them, I guess.
