FOP - Is it REALLY worth it?
Going by posts on various groups, it's a challenge to get fast passes for FOP. DH and I aren't really fans of avatar.. yes we've seen it, and ok it was good, but we're not mad on it...
Is the ride really worth it? My best friend waited twice in a 3 hour queue at AK and said its worth it, but to me, spending 3 hours is a waste of time. I doubt we will be at the gates for 7am either (I'll be too bust at IHOP munching on red velvet pancakes...mmmmm) |

I thought FoP was utterly fantastic. I’ve never ridden anything like it. Would I queue 2-3 hours for it? No. Definitely not. What I would do is spend time refreshing the app to see if I could get a FP.

Not a fan of the film but loved loved loved the ride managed to get a fast pass as I came on here and they had randomly released more and someone posted, you end up missing all the bits in the que but there is no way I could stand in a line that long never mind the kids

ive watched avatar whilst it was on i wouldnt say i was engrossed in it (cartoon a man called horse imo)
Flight of Passage is an incredible ride and to say its a waste of time queuing for it ? why go all that way and not ride the latest & greatest fwiw get there before rope drop and join the Q even in August we rode in @90 mins shorter that navvi river which isnt worth 3 hours of your life... |

We hadn't watched Avatar, before we booked our trip.
We watched the youtube ride videos and thought it looks pretty great. My hubby was adamant he wasn't going to q for hours for it though, and did getting to ak 1 hr before rope drop, and was off the ride 1/2hr after opening. He was happy to join a 140min q to go on it at the end of our day, so I guess a shorter answer is we thought it is worth it.One of the highlights of our trip. |

During our mid December trip I hadn't a FP for FOP and didn't fancy queuing for hours either. One Saturday morning it was raining so as I lay in the bed at 7am I kept refreshing the app on my phone and nabbed a FP that presumably someone threw back into the system when they changed their plans. That particular day I could only go in the morning as we had other plans for the afternoon, several afternoon FP came up that I couldn't take but I eventually got a morning one (about 10 min refreshing in total).

We went on it last year and thought it was the best ride we have been on so far (Disney + Universal).
We managed to get FPs but were staying onsite so could get them 60days+10 However we would never queue more than an hour for any ride, even this. Many do, but for us, no ride is worth wasting so much time in a queue.

Regardless of subject matter, it's the best ride out there - had 2 FP's - I found found the effects very extreme, and my wife swore, loudly, so we banned ourselves from it and let the kids ride 3 times!
Has to be experienced. Probably is worth 2-3 hrs wait... given what rides you might be prepared to wait 40 mins for...hope to try it again...with eyes open for longer! |
