Carrying phones in the parks
DD wants to take her iPhone with her to the parks, primarily as her camera but also as a way for us to contact her and her friend too.
DH is adamantly against it as he thinks it will get damaged and is one more thing to loose. How does everyone carry their phones? And how strict are they on rides re small bags etc.

I always take my phone as I too use it for taking photos. I also always have a smallish across body bag and I never have to take it off for rides. This is at Disney though, I'm not sure about Universal. I know you can also wear a bumbag, although not sure how old your DD is, she may not wear one of those! Personally, I can't imagine that she will be happy without her phone and how will you contact her otherwise?

I would definitely let her take her phone. I think Disney are fine with small bags on the rides. Universal, some rides you have to leave phones, wallets etc in a locker.

My phone is the only thing I take into the parks. Well, that and my Magicband.
I have it in the pocket of my shorts. |

Would never leave my phone, will always have it in my pocket, and on the rare occasion I don't have it I will let my husband carry it or have a small bag

My DD usually has her i-phone in her shorts pocket. I panic about it, but it is a snug fit and has always been safe. If she isn't wearing shorts, then she will take a very small bag or put it in my bag.

My wife carries her phone in a fabric clip on pouch/wallet. It has a zip compartment for some money too. It fits her iPhone 7 perfectly and clips onto her shorts with the carabiner clip attached. It was £10 in Tesco.

We use these at universal: amazon/dp/B00TDKUORC
We do not look the most stylish but they are totally waterproof and can fit a card/ bit of cash / universal ticket too! I just use a cross body bag at Disney and my DH has a bumbag (we are style icons)... |

Does he not take one? Or is he exempt from loss/damage? 😉
If you take the right precautions it should be fine although the worst can always happen.. it's just doing what you can to minimise the risk. I always take a phone and will let our eldest who now has a phone take hers, providing she can carry it safely either in a holder of some sort or a zipped pocket. |
