Question Universal/IOA gate price?

Hi just wondered if anyone has gone to Universal and IOA and just paid at the gate for 1 day? We have ALWAYS bought our tickets before we go but as our kids aren't to bothered about the big rides we have only ever managed 2 days at these parks which we feel kinda makes paying for 14 day tickets in advance a wee bit of a waste. I realise that the 14 day ticket is good value for money if you're gonna use them throughout your holiday. However, this year we are really only bothered about experiencing Harry Potter, so would it be crazy to pay the gate price for 1 day? We already have our Disney Ultimate's but are still unsure about Sea World, Busch Gardens etc. We were thinking that Universal tickets will cost us roughly £400, so could we use that money to buy the SW, BG & AQ ticket plus pay at the gate for IOA? I know it will probably be a tad more expensive but would it be money better spent? (if you know what I mean ) Any opinions would be greatly appreciated

Ah, but that's the beauty of the Universal parks. If you buy a 2-park ticket from someone like ATD, then you just pay the £85 I think it is now, and that ticket is valid for both parks for as many times as you want to go for a 14-day period.

We have just come back from Florida and we went universal to see the Harry potter and cost me 87 dollars for the one day pass.

Thanks for that that's a great help That would work out to be roughly £54 pp for 1 day in 1 park which is almost half what we would need to pay if we bought the 14 day tickets before we go... I realise the 14 day is better value for money but the £200 we will save would go a long way towards paying for the SW, BG & AQ ticket... and we only need 1 day to do Harry Potter

The only worry we have is that we only ever end up using 1 or 2 days at most because we prefer Disney, so although it's really only better value for money (for us) if we use it more than that Plus as we're staying onsite at Disney we have to take traveling to and from Universal/IOA into consideration too when considering of costs
Thanks for your input though, it's really appreciated
