We are villas all the way now but with children your age we would have been a deluxe hotel or we would have rented DVC points for a one bedroom villa to give that little bit extra room. You also get your full kitchen, balcony and large shower/bath room in the one bed villas.

You’ve probably seen videos of the one bed villas but here is one to watch if you have not...

We did first villa when kids were 6 and 15 and they wanted to stay in the same room as they felt more comfortable like that. We love the private pool above all else and the fun we have had over the years has eclipsed every other memory.

My 2 were 12 and 9 on our last trip and we stayed in one room. I'm hoping to take them again in 2023 when they'll be 16 and 13 and I'll be looking at 1 hotel room.
For me (obviously very personal) I like the feel of a hotel that it's a holiday, I don't have to do any cleaning, washing, cooking etc. I like knowing that if I have any issues I can go to customer services to fix it.
When I return It will be as a single parent and although they will be teens I like the idea of 'support/security' at reception

Thank you so much for all the replies we've definitely decided against a villa.
Will keep an eye open for any Disney deals or alternatively look for a good condo style hotel resort.

When we were younger staying in one room was not a problem
Now we are older and also take grand kids I could not imagine not having a villa
Like to get back on an evening and relax in spa with a cold beer or glass of wine
We eat out 99% of the time so DW doesn’t have to cook apart from the odd pizza in oven
Dishes go straight into dish washer

It's the bathrooms get me. I can't imagine rushing to get ready to go out with only one bathroom!

Funnily enough we have 4 toilets at home but one bathroom is never a problem on holiday! Lol

Our children are still babies so wouldn't be in there without us anyway. I'm sure when I've got teens it might be different!
