Gulf Coast
We are looking at trying the gulf coast next year, preferably a villa near the sea. Are there any areas you prefer?
I have seen some very nice villas in Cape Coral, would this be a good base for the area? |

Try from Anna Maria Island all the way down to Sarasota, beautiful beaches, great restaurants and lazy days. I sure others will be along to suggest other great places to go as there is a huge choice and the above suggestion is only my personal experience.

We stayed at Cape Coral this year but not one of my favourite areas- much prefer around Bradenton or Palm Harbor which is close to Clearwater but a quieter area with many beaches & towns to visit. Depends what you like to do

There are some nice villas on the inter coastal waterways in Treasure Island with a very short walk to the beach. Lovely area 😊

We normally stay in Rotonda, but this year we've booked a villa in Cape Coral. Son, DIL and our 2 granddaughters are staying in Orlando to do the parks for the first week, then coming down to stay with us for their 2nd week.

Thanks for the suggestions. We will be going for the first few weeks in July, flight prices into Tampa seem reasonable at the moment.
We like to do the parks but think we might give Disney a miss next time , probably book a universal hotel again and just do two days there. Starting to think about a split stay on the coast then a week in Orlando. |

We are currently here in Bradenton, this is our 3rd time staying in the area, I don't think I ever want to go back up to Orlando area.
