We have now had to mo e our villa booking three times from . August 20..to April 21 and now fingers crossed to September 21.
Martin has been brilliant.

I had the same issue with one Dibb villa owner (booked for April 2020) - it was to be our second time staying there too. I had paid in full and she offered no refund and, even though I offered to re-book for another time and stay for much longer, she would not move the booking.

I would have been happy if she had kept the deposit or offered to move dates but she refused. Everybody's circumstances are different but I felt keeping over £1K was very inflexible. I was lucky that insurance paid out but it did cause stress. I wouldn't have booked with her again but I notice the villa has now been removed from this site anyway.

On the flip side I had a different Dibb villa booked for August 2020. When that wasn't going ahead she couldn't have been more helpful and understanding. I had only paid a £200 deposit and would have been content to lose that. However, she happily moved my booking. Unfortunately she has since sold the villa but proactively contacted me, apologised and refunded my deposit immediately.

Neither of these experiences would put me off booking a Dibb villa again - I have 3 flights booked for next year and will be asking again for accommodation once I'm confident the flights will go ahead.

Hope your insurance pays out for you too.

Just to add - I also booked DVC points for one night in April 2020, the owner on here has moved it twice for me and even offered to refund a small amount as the new booking was one point less. That is going above and beyond and I, obviously, refused.

I paid a deposit but it was nearly 700 pounds so no small amount , I am currently discussing with insurance who say that she should refund me

I was given my deposit back by Penny, would have absolutely loved to have moved the booking to next year, but she was fully booked for my dates. Great service, and the reason I book Dibb villas. Sorry some of you have not had the same experience.

I had another Dibb villa booked and paid for, but I claimed on my insurance, as I was aware of the terms and conditions which meant no refund. I had no problems claiming, and was happy to do this.

Can I ask who you used that wouldn’t refund so we can avoid. I know they aren’t on here but you never know if they reappear x

This sounds very much like the villa we had booked for May 20, kept everything including pool heat!
