Is it me...or is TV over ran with "Kids behaving badly programmes? "

Whatever happened to good old fashioned discipline that originated in the home? Are some of these parents totally clueless? We seem to have wall to wall badly behaved kids... and parents doing very little.

THough I guess these so called programmes are all apr of the so called reality TV...how depressing...

Cannot bring myself to go anywhere near any channel showing my child/ partner/ mum is a nightmare/ serial killer/ freak of nature.

Interchange the parties/problem as desired.

I guess, much as i love Tony, the Labour government happened... we are not allowed to chastise our kids for fear of getting locked up for our efforts!

Just to add, if this new legislation is passed whereby corporal punishment will be brought back into schools, i will be totally outraged... why should some stranger be allowed to hit my kids when i stand to get locked up if i give em a clip across the butt?

As for the programmes, if they are not to your taste, dont watch. One of my girls has ADHD and ive picked up a lot from some of these shows. JMO

Oh I dont watch them. Purely because I cannot see how it can be deemed as informative or as entertainment.

Making children behave like human beings has been outlawed!

I guess original thought and paying screenwriters and actors to act is too much to ask!

my children summed up those programmes" you would not let us behave like that" now i dont hit my children i do shout now and then but i do make them say please and thank you, we do sit down to dinner together and when they do miss behave they lose the internet, going out etc.. i am pleased when other parents have my children round and say how well mannered they are. they are 10 and 13

i hate these programmes, quite frankly the parents of these monsters are stupid to let them behave like that:angry:
there is no way i would let my kids call me a b****... if they did they would get their mouths washed out with soap and water (yes i would do it).
why don't these silly parents actually discipline their kids? i mean who is the boss in their houses .
my kids sat and watched an episode of supernanny when we were on holiday and they were horrified that the kids were behaving like that, my son said 'mum if behaved like that you would have grounded me for a year' . i had to explain that it wasn't the kids fault it was the mothers for letting them run riot and treating her like dirt.

I quite like watching them... lets me see what perfect little angels my 3 boys really were... it's a worry what kind of society we're going to have in the future with these wild kids and their clueless parents

I watched a bit of one last night and i think the blame mostly lies with the parents. They are bone idle lazy and most of them dont have even half a clue.
They carry on oblivious then the kids get to playgroup or nursery age and they see other kids and think why arent mine like that!
By this time a state of lawlessness has set in and the kids and parents struggle to do things how it should have been standard in the first place.
You then have parents desperate to change and others who continue on as it has always been who in turn have kids and think that the way they were raised is good enough. I have had some right nightmares come into reception class over time i can tell you.
