Have a look on the student room at some examples for his subject , it will give you some idea and inspiration . We’ve done it as a draft and he’s taking it to his Tutor as they are very helpful . We havent had much help from the college tbh .

DD hasn’t had any help from her college, her tutor looked over her first draft and said it was fine. DD felt she wanted a second opinion and as her chosen course is Biology she asked her Biology teacher to check it too. She suggested a few tweaks and DD is happy to submit now. She found it tricky to keep within the character count and get over all her points, but eventually managed it. Fingers crossed her chosen universities make offers now. Good luck to all our children for this step now

DS also had no help as we are in France. We brainstormed ideas for each part of the UCAS framework on a car trip and then DS worked from that. It was very much geared to his chosen course but I have no real idea how good or not it is!
His application is in so it is now a waiting game. I just hope he gets some offers!

Had a visit to Roehampton uni today. I was pleasantly surprised, so well organised and everyone was so helpful. You were able to park for free in the hospital opposite car park. Its a drama degree that they do here rather than an Acting degree which is fine for him. The accommodation was nice and relatively cheap for London. I think at the moment it is favourite, especially as he would be given the chance to study in the US.
Also the free lunch and drink was very welcome

We're off to Lincoln tomorrow and have Sheffield next weekend, followed by Liverpool in November. We did Sheffield Hallam last Saturday and were totally underwhelmed. The presentation (history) was the most boring thing I have seen in a long time and we didn't get a good vibe from the place at all.
The stand out for us so far has been Huddersfield which took us completely by surprise. The building is brand new and has some amazing equipment, and we were really impressed with the accommodation village. |

We’re off to Gloucester tomorrow - looks like it’s going to be another wet visit.

We visited Hertfordshire Uni yesterday and were very impressed with it. Nice small campus, very friendly and had a nice family feel to it. The physics talk was good and the facilities are nice. The accommodation was modern, bright and the kitchen areas were big with a dining area as well as a lounge area. They have a big onsite nightclub with various bars and seating areas, that part particularly impressed DS(can’t think why!) So this is definitely going on DSs list now. It’s a 40 min drive from home and he can be in central London in 25 mins from the campus. So it’s a great location for us too.
