Feel free to pass on some info as to the type of things you like to do or if you are looking for somewhere to eat and I am happy to make some recommendations.

You might like to get a bus or taxi to Guernsey Candles - you can both carve your own candle and they have the most lovely gift shop. (Check out the Facebook page).
I love the sound of candle carving! Mum and I love just having a mooch around, mum has Fibromyalgia so has to take it easy so we won't be doing anything particularly active, so local sights near the port of historical interest... oh and mum loves a cable car (I'm scared of heights )

We are following this itinerary but a month earlier, it will be our first cruise so all advice and tips welcomed.

I too cannot wait for the sail away!
This was mum and I on our balcony as we sailed away from Southampton for our Fjords cruise

And then one of me with my feet up... I still have those P&O slippers

We did many of those ports last year.

Lisbon we did a hop on hop off bus. Was reasonably cheap and we got a good view of the city.

Vigo on the other hand was a bit of a dump near the port. Nothing to see, most of the shops in the shopping arcade next to the port were empty. If we were to go there again I would book a bus trip to go somewhere else.

The bay of biscay for us was two different experiences. On the way out it was flat calm. Lots of whales to be seen. On the way back however it was choppy. The weather turned poor, not much eating and drinking going on. Lasted 24 hours.

That's really good to know about Vigo, having a look at the example excursions perhaps we'd do the Santiago de Compostela or La Toja island

Wow, whales on the Bay of Biscay how amazing! We'll be making sure we take our sea sickness tablets that's for sure!

Santiago de Compostela is well worth a visit. We did it by train from La Coruna last year. It’s a 20 minute walk from the station to the old town but taxis and buses were available.

Love it
DH and I are taking my Mum as she has always wanted to take a cruise, DD25 and DS20 weren't expected to come but they don't want to miss out - so really happy it's become a family affair
