Princess Pavillion

Ok, I confess, in all my years visiting DLP I have never visited the Princess Pavilion!

This is pretty much because I have no idea how it works! I recall a long time ago you had to arrive early in the morning, and collect a ticket to return later in the day? Am I right in thinking this is no longer the case?

Do you now just rock up like with any meet and queue? (for a very long time!)

My daughter and I are on a mission to meet loads of characters when we go in July and unfortunately it is too complicated to add the new Princess breakfast to our booking so I think we're going to need to bite the bullet and visit the pavilion!

Any advice would be gratefully received

When I went in October it was open for Extra Magic Time. People ran, though. I'm not even kidding! The wait was still a while, but nothing like the time it can get to during the day! X

I have never been either, because even during EMT the wait never drops below 75 minutes!

we did actually queue for it. it was rubbish! very long wait and you only got to meet one princess, we were under the impression you got to meet several! it felt like a waste of time if im honest because it took so long.

If you don't fancy the long queues for Princess Pavilion and don't mind chancing it, I would recommend following ED92 on twitter and turning on notifications when you are in the parks. They regularly tweet about random character meet and greets that pop up in the parks, for example Belle is quite often seen around Casey Jr.

Can be a good way of still meeting a princess without the 90min wait!

We were lucky enough to stumble upon Village Belle in that area in October last year. And before the queue got big! 😂

ED92 are brilliant at this, I always turn notifications on for them when I'm in the park so will definitely so this this time around too, especially as my daughter and I won't mind dropping everything and running to a character

EMT isn't a bad shout, if I can get DD out of bed early enough we'll make sure we pass it early on just in case the queue is short enough to tolerate

That area by Casey Jr is a hidden gem. I’m sure lots of people don’t know characters are there. We saw Scrooge McDuck there once with no queue. As it was Peter’s birthday we asked if he could give us some money, and of course he was shocked!

Yes I've noticed that area is fantastic for characters too, annoyingly though when we do our trips in January the whole area is closed for annual refurb

But in July... perhaps Chloe and I will camp out there
