The cheapest wins unless they are close, in which case the early flight wins. It means less hanging about at this end, and more time to get sorted at that end.

I think I would prefer the earlier one, but generally only been the later one available for us (the Gatwick 1pm one). Still it has worked out well as, touch wood, never yet had a queue at MCO immigration.

Im an early flyer. We were massively delayed a few years back and arrived 11pm ish at hotel. With small kids was too much.
Fly at 10. Land at 2. Offsite car hire so expecting to be at pool around 6. Shower dinner and bed... Weeeeellllll... thats the plan😉 |

Early out , less chance of knock on delays and a later flight to switch to if things go wrong (or time to find a reroute) due to tech issues or weather.
Latest back , worth having a villa for an extra night or a hotel day room / extra night if it's a really late one (Norwegian for some of my family last year was 23.45 instead of hanging around we were in the villa pool) |

We've always flown with BA indirect from Glasgow, we've done both the early & later flight and found that for us it's pretty much the same effect.
We're going direct this time, flight is at lunchtime so no crazy early rise for us...just wish Glasgow had twighlight check in

Late out and early back.
Cannot be rushing in the morning before we fly and our view is that on the last day the holiday is over and I want to be on the M25 before 8.00am.

Early flight for us. Hotel stay at airport day before fly out. Drive to villa or hotel in daylight. Plenty of time to unpack, eat and enjoy some of the first day otherwise imo you risk losing too much of it with a later flight.

The OP asked for peoples views - that's mine!
I's not being blasé it's mainly about not sitting on the M25 for hours when I have a 3 hour drive in front of me.
