Sheraton Sand Key Resort Clearwater ...Anyone stayed here ? What did you think?
Has anyone stayed here? Only want to do 3 nights , 4 days then onto Disney and already booked it. Have looked on TripAdvisor but still not sure as it was just a quick decision in the travel agents. Not going until next year so still time to change it.Like the idea of its own beach but is it any good overall?

Would be interested in any replies too as looking at Clearwater for a few nights at the end of our break and this is one of the places which came up.

Stayed at this location a few years ago for a couple of nights. The hotel itself was fine. The beach is public and next to Sand Key public park. One thing that DW did not like was it is quite a walk from the hotel down to the shoreline. It is also on the other side of the bridge from most of the bars / restaurants of Clearwater Beach.

We stayed in this hotel in October 2017. We liked it - the hotel was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Beach is beautiful. I would stay there again. I agree with the remark from N52939 about it being the other side of the bridge from most of the bars/restaurants at Clearwater Beach but we didn't find it too much of an issue.

Thank you both , still not sure what to do .TA said it was a private beach and being easter don't know how busy it would be if not.I like St Petes myself but Other half thought Clearwater would make a change.

As the beach is on the other side of an inlet it won’t be as busy as the main Clearwater beach. However technically there is no such thing as a private beach in Florida. They are all public, except for a small beach at the home of former governor Rick Scott who classified his as private just before he left office and became a senator.

We stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago. The park and beach are lovely, but it is a bit of a distance to the shoreline, as previous posters mentioned. The hotel is very comfortable and clean, but the pool area is quite small. The trolley stops right outside the door and it's a lovely 5-10 minutes across the bridge to Clearwater. There's also a lovely breakfast spot - Maggie Mae's Sunrise Café, pretty much across the road. You're away from the busy atmosphere of Clearwater Beach but close enough to get a cab or trolley to the centre of things in less than 10 minutes. We stayed in a different hotel in Clearwater this year, but we'd stay here again.
