You have to click 'send as gift'

Cancel that, looks like they've changed it. I just tried to send £1 - but it didn't say anything about fees.
Are you using a credit card as the funding source?

I thought if you are sending then no charge if by debit card but receiving money you get charged, going by my ebay account anyway. You get charged if it is linked to a cc.

You don't get charged if you are linked to a bank account, debit card or have a balance in your account. You don't get charged for receiving money if its just a friends transaction. I've used paypal many many times for sending and receiving funds not linked to eBay transactions and have had no charges.

Dh and I send each other money frequently and don't get charged (dh sent me some an hour ago so definitely hasn't changed). This is from paypal balance though so don't know if they charge if it's from a bank account.

Glad to have just seen this - I sent money to a friend via gifts/family/friends. I paid on my debit card (no paypal balance) and I was charged 40p to send it!
