The official ESTA web site recommends that you print or take a screen shot.

There were reports a few years ago, not so much now, of UK check-in agents asking to see a print. Obviously totally unnecessary but if it were to happen again who needs the grief of an argument at check in.

You don't have to but I'd strongly recommend you do just in case.

Along with:-

airline booking confirmation email (never needed)
overnight hotel confirmation (never needed)
NHS vax passport (never needed as in Verifly)
Randox negative tests (ditto)
PLF coming home last December (ditto)

The only bit of paper that has been useful over the years was the Alamo bar code to STC but that's changed now

I'm 76 and reasonably OK with tech but I'll still take an acre of the Brazilian rain forest with me. They are in the second tier wallet in my cabin bag though labelled "I may just need these"

Same as the others.. I have an A5 folder with hard copies of every single document relating to the vacation, ETA’s ESTA’s, Flight tickets, Vaccination record, Hotel Bookings, Car hires, Domestic Flights, Travel Insurance booklet, Maps of cities, attraction tickets, etc etc.

Others can trust in their phones, their signal, the Wi-Fi and the software of the various groups which need the information etc as much as they like. I always have good ole fashioned paper as a back up… just in case.

That is why I also carry cash, in addition to any preloaded cards etc. I was in Cyprus when the government stole money from citizens bank accounts to solve their financial crisis and at that time, petrol stations, hotels, restaurants etc would only accept cash. I felt rather wise to have hedged my bets!

If you don’t believe me re Cyprus, then read this!
