Staying near Chania Crete, restaurant recommendations

We are in Crete near Chania, the foods been a bit naff so far. We are in Agia Maria but twenty minutes from Chania or near platanias. Can you recommend a good restaurant, looked on trip advisor and pick the best ones but it’s all a bit underwhelming. Thanks for any replies, it’s so hot here 29 degrees at 11.30 last night. 🫠

Can't help sorry Sandra but I do know it's best to go in May or September to Greece as it does get hot 😬😩

Hi Sandra, I hope you are having a lovely time. I haven’t been to Crete (hopefully someone that has will be along with some great suggestions) but I had a quick look on TA and this one looks really nice, great views and good food.

Hi Sandra - were also in Crete and about 22km from you in Almyrida so might be a bit far for you, but if you are this way, there's a lovely restaurant called Almyvita in the village. Lovely roof terrace, but the heat forced us inside 😄
Flying back out of Chania tomorrow 🙄

Eap if it’s still there. There are loads of good ones but I can’t remember the names. To be fair we didn’t have a bad meal in those resorts. We were staying in that resort too. Eap is on the main road but it is beachfront. Staff were brilliant and so was the food.

We are in Agia Maria too. Weve had some lovely meals. Have you tried Raeti on the strip its always packed the food is lovely. We had lush Street food like an upmarket gyros in Chania. Really nice food at Horatiko in Agia Maria too. We also walked up the hill behind the strip and ate in a lovely place looking at the sunset, Meraki. Weve been here 10 days and only had one awful meal on our way back from driving to Hora Safkion.

I will check these out . Currently on fasssanda beach , four sun beds 80 euros so we're on the sand 🙄

Good grief. Elafonissi was only 15 euros for 2. I hope its nice. That's nearly as much as some on Mykynos. We are off to Meraki again tonight. Very friendly people and lovely authentic Greek food.

The street food place in Chania is called Pork to Beef wild. Its a very small place on the corner. A few tables outside.

We went for the beef bavette a green salad and a couple of draught Alfa beers. It was delicious.
We had the meze to share at Raeti.
Greek salad dips and bread to start then a sharing platter then moussaka and a beef rice & potato dish.lots of food, bit too much for us but gorgeous.
