TUI return flight - do they weigh hand luggage?

Any recent experience of returning to the UK with TUI from Melbourne - did they weigh your hand luggage?

Cheers!

Watched a recent vlog and apparently the staff at Melbourne are very keen on hand luggage weights.

Flew back yesterday from MLB and no they didn’t. Also one of our bags was over 20kg and that was also fine too.

Hoping that’s the case (pardon the pun) with us too.
Size will be fine as we’ve bought those cabin max bags - but getting them under 10kg might be tricky!

Sorry to go off point but would you recommend the cabin max bags? I've been looking at them and they seem to get good reviews.

No probs. We’ve just bought ours so no real world experience with them yet. But, they seem pretty well made / robust.

I’d say only real issue is they are 2.7kg empty - hence why I’m wondering if they will police h to e 10kg limit. But guess that’s true of most hard shell cases.

I had my 10kg hand luggage, and my Mini Jen on the top of it, but they didn't even ask to weigh it.

Last week no one looked at our hand luggage, we did hit nearly 51kg for our 4 check in bags and she said they had been told to charge and not override on their system.

She got round the extra kilo by putting it through as checked hand luggage when we opened it to move stuff and she saw it was mainly liquids and stuff that couldn't go in the cabin.

Would have been $25 a kilo i think.
