Mosquito/ biting insects
Hi,
Off to Disney next week. Are there a lot of mosquitos about this time of year? What do you recommend we take to prevent getting biten? We have spray but was also thinking about buying bands too. Thanks 😊 |

We’ve been going for over 20 years, never even seen a mozzie never mind get bitten by one 😀. Disney have very good systems to control things that bite.

Not so much an issue in the Orlando area - it's a different case out on the coasts of Florida, especially at sunset, though these are midges named 'No-See-Ums'.
Avon's skin so soft works well for some - ddt creams well for others. If you're sticking to the DIsney area, you don't need to worry. If you plan an overnight trip to the beach, stock up.

I've been bitten when staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge of an evening on the balcony. Other than that, not a thing. I believe that they spray the parks and hotels to kill the mozzies off.

I took mozzie spray and used it morning and evening. I did get a couple of small bites on my feet but not enough to bother me.

I normally have quit bad reactions to mozzie bites. I have been using a dry body oil in the evenings and have had very few bites. I use Kiehl’s but I think Dove do one which is cheaper. Also think Sanctuary do one from Boots.

I usually go in Sept/Oct and had never seen a single one.
This year we went in May and I got bitten, no idea where, just noticed huge bites on my legs, which you can still see now!

Thank you for all your replies. I feel reassured that I should be ok with just spray. We are mainly doing the disney area.
