Are you related to the "old money" Spamburgers from the Hamptons by any chance?

Mick
Regrettably not.

In the event that I was related to any of the Hampton Spamburgers, then I would be able to upgrade to Coach extra legroom or even exit Row.. and maybe even the Swan & Dolphin, rather than LBV Village resort and Spa.

Fate has dealt the Penryn ‘no money old or new’ Spamburger clan a cruel blow!

I have been a member of about eight different forums over the past 30 years. This sort of OP (opening post) crops up on every forum from time to time. And the wisest thing I ever saw about internet forums was posted at least 20 years ago:

Learn the culture
Bow to the gods

(ie the owners/moderators/admin, who have the right to decide how their own site runs)

All forums use abbreviations and expressions that others won’t understand, it’s a natural part of communication. If you don’t want to find out what they mean, you don’t have to. But don’t throw a hissy fit when others do.
Use them all you want and I dont think OP has a problem with acronyms per se, but the sheer amount used on this forum is practically like learning a 2nd language. I have nothing against anybody that spends a vast amount of time on here and uses every acronym going, I may go through the odd post here and there but now my trip is over ill probably venture on here once maybe twice a week tops, hence why I refuse to learn the vast majority. Especially when most are completely ridiculous.

AP - Annual Pass
AP - Artist Point - So which one is it? ...stupid!

ASM - Disney's All-Star Music Resort
ASMo - Disney's All-Star Movies Resort
ASSp - Disney's All Star Sports Resort - Stupid

BatB - Beauty and the Beast - This is only for people who cant spell Beauty.

DI - Disney Institute - Stupid, choose one!

DS - Dear Son
DS - Disney Springs
DS - Disney Studios - 3? seriously?

its not people having a 'hissy fit' its people calling it out for what it is...

I haven’t beem to WDW since 2014 and I read and post on here every day. It’s not just for trip planning. The more you participate, the more you learn the language.

And the same has been said (re abbreviations and jargon) about every discussion forum I’ve ever seen. It’s part of how people communicate.

Usually fairly obvious in the context of the post as to which it is.

Pretty easy to tell with the context of the post usually

ASM - Disney's All-Star Music Resort
ASMo - Disney's All-Star Movies Resort
ASSp - Disney's All Star Sports Resort - Stupid

Not stupid - you've shown how much typing it saves.

BatB - Beauty and the Beast - This is only for people who cant spell Beauty.

You can't spell can't so glass houses etc.

DI - Discovery Island
DI - Disney Institute - Stupid, choose one!

DS - Dear Son
DS - Disney Springs
DS - Disney Studios - 3? seriously?

Pretty easy to tell with the context of the post usually and it's DHS Disney Hollywood Studios.

It's been like this since forums were invented.
