Lowes Royal pacific and universal
We arrived yesterday for two nights. Previously CBR for five nights then after here collecting a car and getting a Villa for the last bit.
So far I’m noticing good/drink is so much more expensive in universal and we have yet to find childrens meals in the park. Where are cheaper places to eat in the parks that are AC? Express passes are great but still very long queue. Autistic son is not coping at all. It’s been a bit challenging. Lucky to see /meets lots of super heroes here. Did nt see as many characters in Disney. Universal lockers are $2 for a short time. Trying to work out today how to avoid taking a big bag! Lowes hotel room is lovely much nicer than CBR but for price you expect it. Last time we came they gave us flower garlands (kids loved it) and had fruit drinks in dispensers in lobby-have neither this time. Stupidly disappointing as the garland was a nice special touch that the kids loved last time |

Excited about Disney

We have just come back from there. We asked in the food outlets as kids menus weren’t advertised but were available. When we were there there were free lockers available as well as the ones you pay for. We definitely had kids meals in Hard Rock and Bubba Gumps at Cuty Walk.

We have been at Disney and Universal this last week. Food is much better at Disney and slightly better value. Far more options for children at Disney too.

In terms of the lockers. Put a carrier bag inside your rucksack so you can pull that out easily and stick it in a locker then squash your bag into another one, you can have 1 locker for each park ticket.
In the parks we often opt for table service meals which if you look at the menus have options about the same price as quick service but air conditioned and calm and kids meals. You might need to book but you should get one for most of them on the day. Islands - Confisco or Mythos Universal - Lombards You could head out to city walk and eat at Breadbox ( amazing value. Panda Express as well although air conditioned seats might be harder to find in there.

I’m guessing the garlands got canned due to covid - maybe they will come back, was a nice touch.
We usually book a one night stay just to get the express passes. Looking at prices for next year though - horrendous like £600 per night! |

We found queues really long even with express pass. My daughter has autism and bladder condition/issues and my son is autistic and he has an awful time coping with queues and waiting so he really struggled. Lots of tears, shouting and abandoning what we planned. We got the attraction assistance pass to see if it would help. Picked it up from guest services. Spoke about needs and had paediatric letters to show as proof. They did not want to see it. Go to attraction, book a time to return so have the same wait just not physically in the queue. We did it for Hagrid but had to leave as queue was still huge. Son was so distressed he could not cope even with this line. It seems everyones now got this card, people were actually in queue talking about how they did nt need card, just used it to trick the system. It’s not right. It’s just morally so wrong to fake a disability. Obviously I’m aware plenty in the queue had a genuine need and many are a hidden disability. It’s those that were openly faking it and bragging.
Now in our Villa, having a calm few re-set days. |
